OSHO Active Meditations

The methodology of the science of awareness

If you want to live a more fulfilled life, first you will want to know your potential, who you really are. Meditation is the route to that knowing. It is the methodology of the science of awareness.

The beauty of the inner science is that it enables whoever wants to explore and to experiment within, to do so alone. This eliminates dependence on an outer authority, the need to be affiliated with any organization and the obligation to accept a certain ideology. Once you understand the steps, you walk the walk in your own, individual way.

Many of the traditional meditative techniques require one to sit still in order to be silent. Firstly, it is an inner stillness that is valuable, and the outer stillness is only in support of that inner stillness. And secondly, for most of us, the accumulated stress in our bodymind makes inner or outer stillness very difficult.

That’s why OSHO Active Meditations have been scientifically designed by Osho, over a long period of experimentation. They enable us to consciously express, experience, and release repressed feelings and emotions and to bring the body back to a relaxed harmony – and then the journey inwards can begin.

“By meditation I mean silence, awareness, witnessing. You can meditate any time of the day, you can meditate working, walking, doing things. Meditation is not something separate from life... You should walk in meditation, you should sit in meditation; that means silently, fully aware. Slowly, slowly it becomes your very flavor….” Osho

Osho Meditative Therapies

The Osho approach to therapy is that it can never be the ultimate solution to human problems, but it can be used as a tool to help prepare the ground for meditation. The revolutionary insight is that analysis and verbalization, the basis of traditional therapy, is not curative. The mind cannot solve the problems created by the mind. Based on this understanding, Osho has created a series of “meditative therapies” that give participants the opportunity to release whatever is repressed that lies at the root of their inner conflicts. Once these tensions are dissolved, the participants are able to sit silently and discover the art of watching that same mind. Uniquely simple and effective, these methods involve a minimum of interaction among the participants, but the energy of the group helps each individual go more deeply into his or her own process. No “language” is required, nor a “therapist.” A trained facilitator is present to support the participants in their individual processes if needed.

Mindfulness Based Stress and Emotional Release

Mindfulness based stress and emotional release is a gentle and effective approach to reducing emotional tension, calming the nervous system, and restoring inner balance. Many people carry unresolved emotional stress in the body, often without being aware of it. Through mindful awareness and emotional release techniques, it becomes possible to safely reconnect with these sensations and allow them to soften naturally.

Unlike forceful methods, mindfulness based emotional release focuses on presence, safety, and self-regulation. By observing thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment, emotional stress can be released gradually and sustainably. This process supports emotional healing, stress relief, and a deeper sense of inner calm.

How Emotional Stress Is Stored in the Body

Emotional stress is not only a mental experience. It often manifests as physical tension, shallow breathing, chronic fatigue, or persistent unease. Mind body emotional release practices help bring awareness to these patterns and gently guide the body toward relaxation. As awareness increases, stored emotions can surface and release without overwhelm.

Mindfulness Techniques for Emotional Release

Mindfulness techniques for emotional release may include breath awareness, body scanning, emotional labeling, and guided attention. These practices help regulate the nervous system and create a sense of safety within the body. Over time, this allows emotional tension to dissolve, supporting stress reduction and emotional balance.

Regular mindfulness practice can help reduce anxiety, improve emotional clarity, and support overall well-being. Online mindfulness sessions make these practices accessible from anywhere, allowing individuals to explore emotional healing at their own pace.
